...I haven't dropped off the face of the earth!!
I am still in the midst of trying to get fit and healthy and have not done any sewing sadly.
I HAVE printed out the Patternmaker skirt pattern but have as yet to begin taping the 20+ A4 pages together .....
So as soon as I move my sweet tush on that project I should be back on track :)
Also I have taken up a vegetarian diet, it was not something that I had particularly planned on doing but after a lot of reading have decided that it really gels with me health wise and philosophically. As such I have been fielding a lot of questions from friends and work colleagues, from the genuinely inquisitive/curious (which is fine by me) to the downright patronising!
Working in a library has allowed me to do LOTS of research into my new diet/lifestyle and my love of reading has probably been another part of why I have slowed down on the sewing front lately.
So anyway that's all I am going to say on the matter, I am happy to answer any genuine questions in regards to this, however there are a lot more learn-ed people out there (Dr Dean Ornish for one) who are way more qualified (or are actually "qualified') to speak on the subject than me .
In the meantime gals and guys have fun sewing :)

Glad you decided to go vegetarian - welcome to the group! Actually, I started vegetarian, but am now vegan and have been following Dr. John McDougall's plan which is vegan - NO fat! While my taste buds are still adjusting, I've lost 10 pounds. The main reason I'm doing this? The thought of my kids having to take care of me down the road scares me to death. LOL
Thanks BJ! I wouldn't mind losing a kilo or two (I'm still in the "overweight " group according to my BMI AND waist measurement- grrr!) but am reading, reading, reading up on it all (I have MOST of the library's books on vegetarianism/veganism out - whoops!) as there seems to be a bit of an misconception out there that you will drop dead from a vitamin deficiency or something if you go vego.... I seem to be doing OK so far :) Luckily my DH has been very supportive (even though hes not vego) which helps heaps!
