Finally I have finished my first baby outfit *YAY* !
I brought this Kwik Sew pattern after reading all the wonderful reviews for it on Pattern Review and let me say it definitely lives up to all the hype:)
In true Kwik Sew fashion the pattern was fast and easy to sew. The hat was soo simple I was able to whip it together in about 15 minutes after cutting out ( it would make a great beginner's project on its own).
The hardest part of the whole pattern was sewing the cuffs "on the round" for the size extra small cardigan. The 6 mm (1/4" ) seams were also a bit tricky but they gave a nice finish :)
The pattern asks for baby snaps- I used ones with a pearl finish from Lincraft. They come with a little tool that you use with a hammer to fix the snaps in place. This was a bit fiddly and I had to redo the top snap 3 times when it failed the open/shut test (the snap came apart). If I it looks like I'll be applying a lot of these in the future, I might end up investing in this press, as pointed out to me by Kristy from Lower Your Presser Foot. I'm not sure if the press only does plastic snaps but if so I think I could live with that for the amount of time it would save.
You can read my full review of this pattern here.

What a cute outfit! It turned out really nice.
Totally cute!
Thanks guys - I'm hoping it will fit one of the twins when they arrive :)
what a sweet cute outfit, I'm thinking about making one for my babyboy too. Where do you buy kwik patterns on the net?
Lucia - I've brought all mine through fabric stores in Australia. Kwik Sew Europe http://www.kwiksew.se/ list Laine & Co as their stockist for France:
Laine & Co
Monplaisir, 32130 MONBLANC
Tel. 05 62 62 3170 • E-mail:laine-et-co@orange.fr

or you could try http://sewingpatterns.com/, however as I have never brought from them I have no idea what they are like. Hope this helps.
Kate :)
Kate, that's cool, thanks so much! I'll try that. You asked about Burda Easy, I did not know they stopped publishing it in English. They're still sold in France that's sure, I received one with my yearly subscription in august-september this year. Thank you for the info on kwiksew, Lucia
I'd like to suggest the Snap Source, www.snapsource.com (NAYY)as a way to buy multi-colored snaps for your future projects and as a source for snap setting tools. Since it appears you are in the market for snap tools, see if this website provides the things you need to do the job. I have been very happy with my purchases from there.
