Vogue 8630 dress

Got a chance to finish off this Vogue 8630 dress over the weekend:

I originally started it at the first Perth Burdastyle sewing weekend away back in July, but since getting home have been moving at a snail pace getting it finished. Feels great to finally put this one away.

Part of what makes this dress pattern special - and why I chose it- is the unusual asymmetrical off centre collar.

The fabric is from Spotlight Midland- some type of metallic/synthetic blend with a raised abstract pattern on top. It reminds me of a lizard and for some reason I keep thinking of the 1980's TV series "V" when I look at it .

Hubby very thoughtfully brought me these earrings as a birthday present when he saw the fabric I had chosen for the dress. Sweet huh? :)
