Vogue Hat 7727

My DSD Coral has come up to visit us in Darwin, while she was here I got her to model this hat for me- so I can post another pattern review!
You can read the full review here.
With the hot weather and high UV ratings we get here in Darwin I am planning on making quite a few more of these, hopefully with a larger brim for extra protection. This one is really just a trial run to see how the pattern went together, using some left over scraps of fabric I had held onto as I loved the fabric (quite PINK though ...).
Due to a measuring error I have inadvertedly made the hat small for me to wear comfortably- as I have since found out from Mary Nanna after posting my review the correct way to measure your head for a hat pattern is "not across the crown, but over the forehead, over the ears and round the base of the back of the head".
After reading Mary Nanna's feedback I realised that it made perfect sense (duh!)but for some reason it didn't occur when I needed it!
Hopefully now that I have the correct method of measuring I might be able to rustle something up in time for the March SPR "Sewn Hat" competition :)
