Terrific Totes

The other day when I was having an attack of the "blahs" a very kind reader -Susan- sent me some shots of her work to help with inspiration :)
Susan is from Ohio and designed both these bags herself.
In her own words: "I like to make totes – it’s portable art on display!
The tote on the left (below) was my attempt to sew something that looks like it’s been crocheted. I sewed strips to a backing; round and round I went! Great way to use up scraps. (It woulda been easier to crochet it, though!) "
The tote below is from Susan's own pattern "Basketball Tote" which - as the name suggests- was designed around a basketball:

I love the way both of these totes look- both the styles and colour combinations. The top "crochet look" scrap tote reminds me of a landscape and the "Basketball tote" has a fun, springtime feel to it . Both definitely are portable artworks to me!

Thanks Susan for sharing your work with me and allowing me to post it here. Seeing these did definitely brighten up my day :)
